Don't Do Dat.

August 1, 2010

You can learn positive things from negative people. It's not wise to readily heed the words that they speak. Look carefully at their life. You will find that they probably don't have what you want. It could be that they do have what you don't want. And in most cases, they don't enjoy what they have. The lesson is, don't live like them. Don't do what they did or you will end up where they are.

Psalm 1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Psalm 1:1 (Amplified)
BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

Integrity?

July 31, 2010

So was looking for that verse about integrity of the upright and ran up on something that I have never seen or heard before in my life. It just fascinated me.

Job 2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Why has my attention never been brought to the first part of this?! Job's wife didn't just say "Curse God and die." The girl was so ignorant that she questioned the fact that he continued to walk in integrity. It gives me an even clearer view of why Job responded to her he way that he did.

How often do we allow ourselves to slip outside integrity without getting it in check properly. Integrity is so important. Most of us are familiar with this definition of the word: adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. That alone is enough to question Mrs. Job's sanity. Why would you want to be married to someone that isn't walking in that?

Check out this definition of the word integrity: The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness. A couple of things come to mind with this. Realness and... [More]

Oh How I love Jesus, because He first loved me. : )

April 2, 2010

I've only seen the Passion of the Christ 2 times. Once when it first hit theaters and then tonight. The first time I saw it, i cried. Not even really because I was sad (even though there were parts that were hurtful). But as I watched this "movie" there was a realization of true, pure, real love.

The scriptures have been quoted thousands of times and we talk about "having a relationship with God". But that was one of those moments that His love overwhelmed me. With tears rolling down my face I wanted to go to heaven immediately... not to see golden streets... not to feel the feathers of angel wings. I wanted to run though the "pearly gates", past my mansion, and bee line straight to my savior to give him a big hug and whisper in his ear the sweetest, "Thank You". To me the Passion of the Christ was more of a Valentine movie than a "Easter" movie. How else do you explain Jesus submitting to such a horrible death. He didnt just die. He was beat, whipped, mocked, spit on, betrayed, denied, and crucified like a common criminal with guilty theives on eather side. The...

Saul’s dead. Moses is gone. Do you remember Vashti?

December 4, 2009

Ok. I'm not the only one who noticed the trend.
There are so many important people dieing these days. I could depress you with a list, but you have heard the news over and over. Some may be less known than others but so many of the people passing away this year have been steadfast strong figures... either internationally or in their own regions of influence or just in their neighborhoods. The funerals this year all seem to be so big.

So I saw an article on msn.com and decided to read it. There was one statement that jumped off the screen and fell in my lap. They quoted the Washington Post saying, “God, please stop taking away our celebrities.” What a radical request! One thing that started becoming very clear before this year started was that we have to really put God first FOR REAL.

You see, one way or the other God will make sure that He doesn't share His glory with any flesh. I'm not saying He kills people. But I do feel that we do sometimes. We keep leaning on folks and putting expectation of people that they constantly fall short of. We make our friends...

What did you hear?

August 21, 2009

Once you hear a person say something, chances are that they are full of it. lol Seriously though the Bible says, “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” {Mathew 12:34}

As God shared this, I wondered, “What about folks that say shallow things that they take no time to think about?” The answer to that is: These people are full of shallowness. They are simply reveling that they are empty.

Make sure that you listen to people with your ears, eyes, and your spirit. Communication doesn’t happen only in the lips. Consider what they say and do. Consider what has been produced in their life. {Matthew 12:33} If you do what they have done, you will get what they got. Is that what you want?

This might need a part two, huh?

Don't Eat Away Your Destiny

August 8, 2009

Question: Are you a consumer or a producer?
Answer:
When looking at myself, consumer seemed to have been the answer before the recent shift. Like the Bible says without knowledge or vision the people perish. If you can't see it or don't know it how can you care for it. Walking around in ignorance was constantly taking life out of where God was trying to take me.

God gave me a gift to design and I spent my money buying clothes in an attempt to satisfy my longing for something that wasn't on the shelf. That's why most of my purchases left me unsatisfied. But now with understanding, the way I shop changes. It's important to invest into the gift inside of me just as much as it is important to sew, ahem, i mean sow into others. ;-) As a child of God I should look like Him and be a creator and not just...
